Good LORDE!

She's the new queen of alternative pop... at 16.  Lorde comes from New Zealand bringing a brand new sound to popular charts.  Her hit 'Royals' is sarcasm at its best-- calling out major flaws in the music industry who boasts lyrics about a lavish lifestyle none of us will ever have.  It's not a mockery however, just a spin on what everyone else is talking about.  "Now, though, I'm obsessed with really high profile celebrities who get really f***ed up; I think you know who I'm talking about!  I find it all so interesting, such tragedies that stem from being put on a pedestal," is what the singer says to Liza Darwin for Noisey about her fascination with celebs and their lives ultimately leading to lyrics.

Discovered at only 13 during a school talent show, Lorde is sure to win over most of the crowd in the future.  She is sure to remain pop royalty as her music progresses.  Will her music remain with the same joking tone when she herself becomes a mega star? Or will she remain grounded and strictly mesmerized by the madness?
