The NYC Musical Saw Festival has been approved by the Guinness Book of Records, and will try to break a current word record for the "Largest Musical Saw Enemble" . The currently record comes from Poland and stands at 27 musical saw players playing together. Sawists are welcome to come and be a part of the record breaking attempt on July 18th, at the annual NYC Musical Saw Festival. The Guinness World Record attempt will begin at 2PM at Trinity Church located at the corner of 37th Street and 31st Avenue in Astoria, Queens. New York 1 just did a great story about the New York musician , Johnny Pacheco . Johnny Pacheco is known for coining the music term, Salsa. Pacheco said he named his brand of music salsa because it is a great mix. Johnny Pacheco said that his band, Fania All-Stars was a sauce, made up of Puerto Ricans , Dominicans, Cubans, 2 Jews and an Englishman. Pacheco said, "You have the condiments, so you have a nice salsa.” Johnny Pacheco not only created a whole genre of music, he also invented musical instruments from material he found on the streets of New York City .
